Every Izil rug is woven to order, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. Minor variations in size (up to 3-4″) and pattern placement may occur depending on your chosen dimensions — we see these as the beautiful marks of true craftsmanship. Natural wool may show subtle tonal shifts due to organic shading, and the colors of your rug may appear slightly different in person than they do on your screen.

We believe these small irregularities are not flaws, but signs of authenticity and true craftsmanship— reminders that your rug was made by hand, just for you.

Vacuum regularly on low suction without a beater bar. Rotate your rug occasionally to ensure even wear, and avoid direct prolonged sunlight to preserve its colors. For spills, blot gently with a clean, dry cloth. For detailed care instructions, please visit our Care Guide.

All orders are final, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on custom-sized or in-stock rugs. For more details, please visit our Shipping & Return Policy.

The Art of Slow Comfort...

Handwoven in the highlands of the Middle Atlas, Beni Mrirt rugs are known for their deep, luxurious pile and refined softness – a modern evolution of Morocco’s most loved wool tradition. Crafted from fine lambswool, each rug carries a warmth and comfort that feels both grounding and elevated, transforming a space through texture alone.

In A World Of Excess, We Choose Intention...

Intention to Create Mindfully

At Izil Studio, we believe in making only what’s needed, when it’s needed. Our made-to-order rugs are crafted specifically for you — not pulled from endless stock, but thoughtfully woven to meet your space and your rhythm. While we offer a small, curated selection of ready-to-ship pieces, our focus remains on mindful creation: no mass production, no wasteful excess. Just careful craftsmanship, made with purpose. A slower way to shop. A more meaningful way to live.

Intention to Work with Nature

Our Beni Mrirt rugs are woven from 100% lamb’s wool, gently sheared from young sheep. Softer, warmer, and more elastic than regular wool, it’s a cruelty-free fiber that’s naturally hypoallergenic, breathable, and made to last.

Intention to Preserve an Enduring Craft

Each rug is handwoven using a traditional double-knotting technique — a hallmark of high-end Moroccan craftsmanship. Unlike single knots, double knots reinforce the weave, creating a denser, more durable rug built to stand up to everyday life. This meticulous method also allows for more intricate patterns and sharp detailing, showcasing the artisan’s skill in every inch. A double-knotted rug is not only more beautiful — it’s made to last for generations.

Bedroom

The key here is making sure there’s enough rug space on each side of your bed—we suggest leaving at least 3 to 4 feet for extra comfort.

Twin bed

Twin Bed with a 5’x8’ Rug
You can place a 4’x6’ or 5’x8’ rug under the lower two-thirds of your twinbed, leaving your nightstands off the rug. This way, you’ll still have plenty of cozy rug space around the bed to comfortably step onto each morning.

Twin Bed with a 6’x9’ Rug
If you’d like more rug space at the foot of your bed, a 6’x9’ rug is perfect—it nicely anchors your furniture and feels balanced.
