1        Caring for Your Rug

→ Vacuum regularly using a low-suction setting and avoid the beater bar. For hand-knotted and silk rugs, use a handheld attachment.

→ Rotate your rug every 6–12 months to prevent uneven fading and wear.

→ Keep it dry. If your rug gets wet, air it out completely and avoid direct sunlight for extended periods.

→ Use a rug pad to protect against friction, slip-ping, and stretching.

2        Spot cleaning

→ Blot (don’t rub) spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth.

→ Use cold water and a mild, natural soap if nee-ded. Always test in a hidden area first.

→ Avoid chemical cleaners, especially on natural fibers like wool or silk.

3        Deep cleaning

We recommend professional cleaning every 1–2 years, especially for silk or heirloom-quality rugs. Be sure your cleaner specializes in handmade or natural fiber rugs.

4        Special care by type

Hand-Knotted Rugs · Rich in texture and durabi-
lity, hand-knotted rugs can last a lifetime. Vacuum lightly and avoid dragging furniture across them to protect the knots.

Flatweaves Rugs  · Lightweight and reversible, benefit from regular shaking or vacuu-
ming on both sides. They’re ideal for layering or high-traffic areas but should still be kept dry.

Rbati Rugs · These intricate city-style rugs are
tightly woven with refined patterns. Handle them gently and keep them out of prolonged direct sun-light to preserve their vibrant detail.

Silk Rugs · Elegant but delicate. Use a soft brush
or vacuum without a beater bar. Avoid placing silk rugs in high-traffic or moisture-prone areas.

Bedroom

The key here is making sure there’s enough rug space on each side of your bed—we suggest leaving at least 3 to 4 feet for extra comfort.

Twin bed

Twin Bed with a 5’x8’ Rug
You can place a 4’x6’ or 5’x8’ rug under the lower two-thirds of your twinbed, leaving your nightstands off the rug. This way, you’ll still have plenty of cozy rug space around the bed to comfortably step onto each morning.

Twin Bed with a 6’x9’ Rug
If you’d like more rug space at the foot of your bed, a 6’x9’ rug is perfect—it nicely anchors your furniture and feels balanced.
